Thant is a good question and you are not alone in finding some of the Government advice confusing. The simple answer is NO. Renew your passport as normal remembering that for many countries you need at least 6 months validity on your passport to visit. Your new passport will remain valid for the 10 years that it states and the only difference may be the rules for travel and visits to the EU after Brexit. Nothing at all will change before December 2020 in the event of a deal and in the unlikely event of a no deal we will provide information here before March of next year. So in short renew as normal and your passport will remain valid but it may be that the rules concerning travel within the EU changes so that you require a visa to visit but we just don’t know yet.
