I am a Brit living in Greece for 11 years. I have read that EU 27 countries will have the option to adopt the more stringent UK proposal of applying for a new status (with criminality checks etc) OR continue with the current EU system which certifies our rights more or less automatically. Do you know please which way the Greek government is likely to lean? Obviously I’m hoping the Greek gov will let us continue as now.
Hi Adam and welcome to the forum.
We have only just reached agreement on a deal on citizens rights, but this issue of registration processes is a top priority and it will be the first issue when discussions begin with the Greek Government. We are waiting for further details about possible changes in the system. As this isn’t a clear answer yet,we will update this post with any information or advice as soon as this matter has been decided.
